Why is Total Recall Learning Soliciting Additional Funds?

One of the reasons Total Recall Learning (TRL) is soliciting funds is to have the resources to produce additional software titles to penetrate the retail training and educational markets.  One of the product categories that urgently needs to be expanded is the category of the top 20 titles for schools and colleges.

At this time, TRL is restricted by a project-to-project revenue model.  Until TRL breaks this cycle, TRL will not easily be able to accumulate marginal revenues or profits, which are generally associated with the repetitive product sales enjoyed by companies that sell into a retail market space.

Having been in business for the last 10 years, TRL is way beyond the concept validation stage.  TRL has been a very successful custom producer of software for the military training market for close to a decade.  TRL has been credited with helping the Department of Defense save upwards of $700,000,000 over the past eight years.  TRL is now at the stage where capital is needed to produce product for a different market, but a very receptive educational market; unfortunately, TRL does not have the number of titles necessary to wedge into this segment successfully.  This is a technology transfer funding problem, where TRL needs to shift from the military to the civilian market.  Please note that this is not a start-up problem.

By using a revenue share model with schools and especially higher education institutions, TRL could easily sell supporting educational courses to help these entities to earn a large increase in variable related revenues, with much thicker margins than their actual core services might produce.  This opportunity can become a very lucrative win-win-win game for all involved.

Hopefully, this background information can assist you in differentiating TRL from other software company start-ups that usually have a drastically different life-cycle trajectory and developmental profile than what TRL has experienced.
